Hot battery, need to know how to by-pass the pass key or need info how to deal with problem without dealer

Replace the ignition lock cylinder and key with one of the correct VATS code. Other methods would include substituting a cylinder and key for the existing one, under the dash and connected in place of the existing. Or finding the resistance value of the key pellet and placing a resistor of same value in place of the cylinder.
