How difficult is the removal of the transmission and are there any special tools needed?

The transmission removal is not too bad if you have a a jack and stands, first disconnect the battery then you want to raise the car in the air, then remove the drivers side tire, next undo the cooling lines to the radiator, next disconnect the low ball joint and axle nut the remove the drivers side axle. Then locate the torque converter bolts and push it back into the trans, undo the frame cross member while holding the engine in place with a jack, next undo the bell housing bolts while having another jack under the pan, use a piece of wood to help support it. Pop the transmission loose and then be careful because the transmission is heavy. Reverse this order to reinstall the transmission. Let me know how it goes.
