ran out of gas filled it up and want start could it be the fuel pump

I'm not a mechanic but have similar problems with electric fuel pumps, they are difficult to start once you go on empty, I think they need time to prime. Try using some quick start fluid on the carb it worked for me.
Like I said I'm not a mechanic but that's a start.

Carb? Cars dont have carbs anymore, but do try to prime the throttle with carb cleaner not starting fluid
