Sounds more to me as compressor or control valve has failed

REMOVE OR DISCONNECT

NOTE: Brazed fittings are on the condenser and evaporator. These fittings cannot be turned because the fitting is brazed to the pipe. It is important that the service technician recognize which fitting is to be turned and use backup wrenches.

The brazed fitting not to be turned is always the same color as the pipe it is brazed to.
Recover refrigerant from A/C system.
Engine coolant reservoir.
A/C line clip attaching evaporator tube to A/C compressor and condenser hose.
Front evaporator tube by separating dual 0-ring joints at condenser outlet and evaporator tube midpoint, using tool J 38042 or equivalent.
Expansion tube from front evaporator tube, using tool J 26549-D or equivalent. Use a turning, push/pull motion.
