How do I replace the starter in a 2004 Cadillac CTS. Where is it located also.

STARTER MOTOR REPLACEMENT

REMOVAL PROCEDURE

1.Turn the ignition OFF.
2.Disconnect the battery negative cable.

3.Remove the starter solenoid electrical connector from the starter.

4.Remove the starter terminal nut (1) and the battery positive cable (2) from the starter.

5.Remove the starter motor bolts.
6.Remove the starter motor.

INSTALLATION PROCEDURE

1.Install the starter motor. NOTE: Refer to Fastener Notice in Service Precautions.
2.Install the starter motor mounting bolts Tighten Tighten the starter motor mounting bolts to 50 N.m (37 lb ft).

3.Install the battery positive cable (2) to the starter and install the starter terminal nut (1). Tighten Tighten the battery positive cable nut to 13 N.m (115 lb in).

4.Install the electrical connector to the starter solenoid.

STARTER MOTOR REPLACEMENT (LA3, LY9)

REMOVAL PROCEDURE

1.Remove the starter heat shield.

2.Remove the starter solenoid "S" terminal nut (1) and disconnect the lead (2) from the starter.

3.Remove the starter terminal nut (2) and disconnect the battery positive cable (1) from the starter.

4.Remove the starter motor mounting bolts.
5.Remove the starter motor from the engine.

INSTALLATION PROCEDURE

1.Position the starter motor to the engine. NOTE: Refer to Fastener Notice in Service Precautions.
2.Install the starter motor mounting bolts Tighten Tighten the starter motor mounting bolts to 40 N.m (30 lb ft) .

3.Connect the battery positive cable (1) to the starter and install the starter terminal nut (2). Tighten Tighten the battery positive cable to starter terminal nut to 12.5 N.m (111 lb in) .

4.Connect the lead (2) to the starter solenoid and install the starter solenoid "S" terminal nut (1). Tighten Tighten the starter solenoid "S" terminal nut to 5 N.m (44 lb in) .
5.Install the starter heat shield.
