1999 Cadillac Concours thermostat

Can I run car without thermostat. The temp. Stays on mormal but sometimes gos to hot for a min. Or two then back to normal. I but a new thermostat but have same problem I changed water pump& belt too. Hoses are good.

It is probably high for a min or two because that is right before the fan kicks on. I dont think you have anything to worry about by the sounds of it.
