Engine Performance problem
1994 Cadillac Concours V8 All Wheel Drive

during starting the engine fail to start and there is abackfire. Before that it fails to start in the first time but it starts when I repeat the starting several times with ubnormal sound and speed.

If it is backfiring through the motor it would be a timing problem, but it could be backfiring through the catillitic converter and that could mean it is clogged and would have to be replaced, hope this helps
