i am loosing water nsomewhere! it never puddles anywhere i park it or can i see any viseable leaks. it has a faint smell only somtimes but not often and it is not running anywhere near hot

you are losing colant and it must go somewhere.
check beneath , around the water pump pulley, specially in the morning befor you start the car.

leak may be coming from the gasket on the water pump.
If no leak is found, you will need a colant pressure test.
if no leak is found after the pressure test, check status of the spark plugs.
