Engine Performance problem
1999 Cadillac Catera Engine Size unknown Wheel Drive Type unknown Automatic 147000 miles

I've jus bought a 99 cadillac catera and my check engine light is on, the dealership I got it from suppose to have fixed my O2 sensors and did a tune up, but I'm still having the same codes with the O2 sensor, the codes are P0159, P0161, and P1161. What should I do? Also what does it mean if my car runs fine but sometimes it will pull off very slow when I push on the gas, it sounds like my transmission is slipping, but it will pick back up. At times the transmission light will come on. What does the O2 sensor do?

I would take it back to the dealer where you bought it from, did you buy a warrenty? Sounds like you have problems, with that milage you need to find out what has been done to that car, they have problems, problems that are just going to eat you alive,

to me sounds like you have catilitic converter problems, trans shift solinoids problems, ck about the timing Belt, when was it done last. If it brakes its a 5000.00 $ job, dealer converters are about 2000 $ plus o2 sensors, coolant leaks are horendus with this model
