Doesn't cold start

Engine Performance problem
2005 Buick Terraza 6 cyl Front Wheel Drive Automatic 106K miles

The van when starting it up doesn't start without giving it gas. Without giving it gas while trying to start, the engine turns over, starts, then cuts right off.

But when starting and giving the engine gas, the van starts right up, but has a rough RPM idle for a bit. After let'n it run for some time, the van has no problem. This issue has existed for I'd say a little over 6-months.

In looking up the possible parts that might be causing this issue, this van doesn't have a Fuel Pressure Regulator listed.

2-Car Pro's help once again. What are the top possible issues that cause this.

Thank you again and I have downloaded the helpful information and preformed the checks. But what I would like to add was I pulled the MAF Sensor and cleaned it with some Gummount Carb Cleaner as if I were spraying the jet in a carb (Like 1/2 a can). The problem has gone away. The car cold starts, maintains a consistent idle, and even seems to run better.

Thanks again..

Glad to know you have fixed the problem.

Yes, a dirty MAF can cause inaccurate signals resultng in starting and running problems.

Thank you for using 2carpros and have a nice day.
