1997 Buick Skylark starter

with no warning at all, all the sudden my starter seams to have no connection. my battery is at 13 volts,lights come on, i hear a clicking under the dash when i turn the key, but sounds like no connection to starter. do i have a silinoid switch? is my starter bad. its always started right up. no warning.
