1996 Buick Roadmaster overheating
Engine Cooling problem
1996 Buick Roadmaster V8 Two Wheel Drive Automatic 140000 miles
runs fine until idles in traffic. thermastat changed, radiater flushed, I did notice fan would stop actually when the car would start overheating

the fan shouldn't kick off when you overheat, but it may be the coolant is low and not operating the switch. best ting to do is when the engine gets hot shut the engine off and disconnect the fan so you don't get hurt. feel the radiator all over . if you feel any area where it is cold then you need a new radiator or yours recored. It should be or feeel the same temperature all over.
