With my high milleage I'm worried about the timing chain breaking. I have no idea if the pistons will clear the valves if it does. Is there enough space in the engine compartment to change the timing chain without removing or lifting the engine?

I assume this is the 3.5 motor?

I would consider that high mlieage for a timing chain.

IT is removed and replaced with the motor setting as it normally does in the engine compartment.

I'll see if I can find if this would be an interference motor.

Thanks. Yes it is the 3.5L, FWD. Never did a timing chain replacement, but want to if I can without removing engine to get at it. I have the GM maintenance manuals from Helm.

I haven't found any info on finding out if a vehicle has an interference engine or not. Where does one look? I have a 2002 Cavalier that I'll be needing to do as well (2.2L SFI OHC).
