I have a Buick LeSabre, 2003, 39000 mi. The air conditioner blower does not run, but I can tell that the air conditioner (compressor) runs. If I run it on normal cool air comes out, barely but itdoes. Sometimes it runs and later cuts off.

Does the A/C air "barely coming out" do so only when the car is moving or also when it is stationary? And, when it is barely coming out that is independent on whether the fan speed is set to maximum, correct? And even then it is intermittent. Sounds as if it is the transistorized motor controller module. Had same symptoms. See library repair manuals for how to check and verify that is the problem before replacing the fan motor controller module. Module is under the hood on/in firewall. Good luck.

Since the last posting I found that if I bang under the dash board (under the glove compartment) the blower starts right up! And will work until the next time it decides to stop, but will start up again when banged on slightly.

Ah Ha! That suggests a loose electrical connection. Or prossibly a relay contact problem. Check the schematic diagram for you auto and see where the connectoins are for fan motor blower connections and unseat them and reseat them. Or, if that does not work, check to see if maybe one of the relays behind the passenger's right kick panel fuse+relay+circuit breaker might be 'un-happy' by interchanging the blower motor relay --IF IT IS ON THAT SIDE-- with another of the SAME size and type. If the 'fault moves with the relay/fuse/circuit breaker, replace the 'bad' one. And, of course, FIRST check that if it is a fuse that the fuses contacts are CLEAN (try a #2 pencil eraser gentely on them to clean off the tarnish. Which it most likely will NOT be, but is worth a try.

Alternatively, if you find a suspect relay, gently remove the cover and check the contacts for very low resistance on both the NO (normally open) and the NC (normally closed) contacts, if good, replace the cover. If VERY careful and have the correct type of 'clearner' paper, 'gently clean the relay contacts IF they are discolored'. Or if swapping relays lets the blower motor run normally, replace the relay with a new one.
