new here. We were just given this car for it had that lovely problem where the top intake gasket waws faulty and the engine filled with water. Yeah nice. But any ways my husband replaced the top intake and the car is running good.

The problem is the check engine light is on now. I am not sure if it was on before. But my husband took it to AutoZone and they put it on a machine and said the throttle sensor was bad. So we replaced that. Well the CEL is still on. What could be the problem??

As I said the faulty top intake gasket is what caused all of this to begin with. Because of that could the oxygen sensor or EGR be bad from the water. For when we took the top intake off it was filled with water.

I just don't want to spend a lot of money on this.

Another thing is when you mostly stop at a light or stop sign the car surges. Not a lot, but what might cause that?

This is a 1997 Buick Le Sabre custom 3800 6 banger with 107368 miles on it. The car is in good shape, just stumped at what is going on with it.

well, first of all..........did they clear the code? the code must be cleared to make the light go out (usually)

I would have it scanned again for new codes.

a real common mistake that I've seen before, and easy to do .............. there is supposed to be an o-ring seal on the pcv valve . check to make sure it's there after the intake replacement.

As a novice can I do a scan and determine a problem
such as a o2 senser or a PVC or EGR. Do i find the the plug in under the driver side? I have 97 Buick Park Ave with 60,000 miles. Larry
