The ABS light, Security light and INF. REST. Light all come on and the speedometer and odometer stop working. This happens periodically since the brakes were repaired and the mechanic scratches his head and says "must be a sensor". Could this have been caused by something they did while repairing the brakes? Or is there a specific sensor that affects these? Fuses are all ok.

Sorry for the late reply.

Make sure the battery has a full charge, all battery connections good and check the charging system.

Anything to do with instrument cluster warning lites, I'd have to check your instrument cluster, basically check voltage and ground and serial data, where applicable, for instrument cluster. Any applicable trouble codes? Are you fully obd1 compliant?

You may also have to check ignition switch, systems for your instrument cluster may not go hot, unless the key is on.
Intermittent issues can be a pain to track, have to test when problem is ongoing. As far as abs sensor, check the wheel speed sensor. I can't think of anything else at the moment.

I realize this is an old post. In the future, hope you don't have any vehicle issues, but, if you do, keep the site in mind. They are always working to improve the site and it's free to ask a question. They have more moderators now, to answer questions, than they did several years ago.
Have a good day.
