Hi. Just bought car. Rear defogger not working. Light goes on when button pushed. Fuse ok. What next? Any simple fix like a relay, bad switch?

Do you hear relay click when buttons pushed?

Could be relay. Fuse etc.

Do you have a volt meter so you can do some testing or do you just want me to tell you part locations so you can just check the relay and the fuse to make sure they are good. If you have a meter and your willing to follow directions we can figure it out.

I hear a click and light goes on when I push button.I checked/swapped fuse and is ok.

I am not a mechanic so the step by step won't help as I do not have tools. Have 30 day used car warranty so I'll head to dealer.I was hoping for quick fix.

I know there is connection at the windowl. One is at the glass, but another(relay as well?) Is a little square wrapped connection just down the wire from the window connection.

Is this something that is commonly fixable? Its an excellent condition car, but I have a feeling it can be a aggravating problem for techs at times. What is the most common cause. And. What is worst case. Thanks

Most common cause is a bad relay or fuse. But there can be worse. They should be able to find the cause no time at all.

Wouldnt hesitate if I had a 30 day warranty, I would get any free fix I could.

.I suppose I should get relay location from you.I heard click, but I guess switch could click too.

I may check back if diagnosis by dealer gets sketchy, but I'll drop in another donation as I don't like wasting anybody's time.

Thanks for your help

Relay is located behind the glovebox on the cross frame.

There will be four relays together. Yours will be the third in from right or second in from left if you prefer. Try swapping it with another relay to see if it works.
