Quite often when starting off in the morning (cold engine) there is a brief (1 to 2 second) whoosing noise when car is accelerated. It sounds like the ventilation fan is turned on high momentarily. No effect on engine performance, but noticeable and startling. After the car warms up it quickly goes away. I believe all fluids are correct. What am I hearing? Is this normal?

Unless you open the hood and start it while watch ing it cold be the fan momentarily or a vacuum leak so I would suggest doing that and having and assistant help if you can. If it's a fan it may be still applied from when the car was shut off so I wouldn't worry about it. If it were a vacuum leak it would effect the engine running. With out actually hearing it I cannot give a definitive answer.
