My daughter-in-law has this car and recently failed inspection due to the "brake" warning light in the dash not coming on during self test, it also wasn't showing the "ABS" light on self test. I found a diagnostic procedure on line and found she had a dead ABS control module, I got another one from the junk yard which fixed the ABS issue but the brake warning lamp still won't come on during power up, it does work if you press the emergency brake pedal though, so I know the bulb is good. I've tried locating a schematic of the system but haven't had any luck, the light will also come on if I push the brake fluid float down. Any ideas on where to look next?

Check fuse 12 in dash fuse box then recheck connections and clear codes a pro may need to clear the codes with the scanner as battery disconnects won't. Then if still not working have pro scan it. There is a possibility the abs unit may need to be programed to your car.
