2003 BMW Z4 Parking Lights

I'm new to owning a Z4 BMW and I need to replace one of the rear side parking lights and don't see where I access it from the trunk to change. Your hlep is appreciated.

Access through the trunk, remove the carpeted covering.

I have the same issue and when I asked my BMW dealer to replace it, he said they have to remove the rear bumber. Good design?
