The central locking switch/button and the emergency hazard lights switch/button which are next to each other in the centre console near the arm rest have just stopped working. Both buttons press but nothing happens. Any ideas? A fuse? How to fix?

Nope. Garage say it might just be a fuse. Are both button control connected for them both to not work?

Those functions are controlled by the general module, the switches are possibly not being recognized. From cyberspace it seems we can go no further. I recommend seeking out a BMW repair facility to perform testing with the proprietary BMW software to see if there is a fault stored in the general module, it might be something simple, but as I said, cyberspace limits my ability to properly diagnose the problem. It may also be something has just become disconnected, or perhaps rodent damage, do you reside in an area with this possibility?
