2005 BMW X3 Air intake

Hello, ok I installed a air intake in my BMW X3 3.0i. after i was done i turned car on and immediately got a transmission light, then I took it for a drive around the house it came back with a transmission light and a check engine light. So I then reinstall the orginal air filter and now the check engine light remains on. How could I get it cut off? and how could I utilize my ne w air intake without getting lights? thank you.

The check engine light is on because of a fault that was set when you attempted to alter the stock set-up. It may no longer be currently present. It is possible to have the fault scanned and possibly reset. I personally do not recommend changing the X3 in any way especially when the factory warranty is 5 years 50k miles and would be unfortunate to void it needlessly.
