Hello, I am writing for my friend, BIG JOE",
he is a old world mechanic age 80, he can fix anything, he was given a bmw 1993, 7401, some years ago, and it was rehabed to a good daily driver, recent transmission sticking led BIG JOE to trouble shoot the entire transmissoin, and replace the transmission module under the hood it snaps in place, a used module that was purchased and checked prior to installation is in place, now, the dash board reads, program transmission, that is the question, dealers wat to replace entire trannys, and small transmission shops, are less educated on this subject than BIG JOE, any information your expert team can share will be super appreciated, BIG JOE does not own, expensive electronic meters, he would be amendable to procuring the eguiptment if needed, THANX A TRILLION FOR READING, AND FOR ANY AND ALL ASSISTANCE, LOVE, PEACE, AND NURSE, LARRY, nmb, fl.

Service bulletin 24-03-94 might be relevant. It might require replacement of the Chip in the EGS module and then subsequent clearing of adaptations in the control module. If the transmission serial number(located on a plate on the body of the transmission) is equal to or greater than 18585 the the part number is 01-00-1-469-307 If less than 18585 part number 01-00-1-469-308. This may also need to be performed along with an exchange shift body and fresh oil/filter.
