1997 BMW 540i V8 Automatic 99000 miles
I have a 97 BMW 540. I need both catylatic converters replaced. Can I use both catylatic converters from a 02 BMW 540 and install them in my 97 BMW 540??? That isone question. The other question is if not ... Then what years and models can I use and are comparable to my 97 BMW 540???? For example can a 98 BMW 528 be campatable with my 97 540????? Please get back to me I need help.... Thank you

No to the swap. 9/98 was the cut-off for production. The early exhaust had dual flanges, the late model was single. The E38 used the same cats, as long as it was <9/98 production.
