2003 BMW 530 Repair Question

2003 BMW 530 vehicle will not start
Electrical problem
2003 BMW 530 6 cyl Two Wheel Drive Automatic 114000 miles
The battery died and it was recharged at Schuks. Put battery i turned key and absolutely nothing. Not even a click. I was wondering if there is a neutral safety switch or ... I wish it would run. Please advise.

Maybe the battery is dead and wont hold a charge, how old is it?
