1999 BMW 528 Controls

My fuel gage, mileage gage, steering wheel adjuster and driver's seat adjuster all stopped working suddenly. Also it sometimes lights up and indicates that a light is out or a door is open when in fact it is not. What should I check and what do think is the problem.

The "drivers seat controls", is the control module for the seat and steering wheel, check to see if it has become disconnected. The other issues may not be related. Lets take it one at a time.
