1998 BMW 528 Strong Odor
Smells problem
1998 BMW 528 6 cyl Two Wheel Drive Automatic 157000 miles
Car has been stinking, particularly noticeable when it's been driven and parked in closed garage. Also noticeable in the passenger cabin. Odor seems to be "oily" (car has synthetic oil). No leakage detectable under hood or on floor. Dealer has replaced valve cover gasket and oil pressure hose from VANOS thinking leaking fluid may be vaporizing on exhaust before it leaks to floor. Dealer has also checked exhaust system and fuel system, both o.k. Am getting really frustrated with this. Any ideas?
