91 reverse light problem

1991 BMW 525i 6 cyl Two Wheel Drive Automatic 101200 miles
My reverse light is not working. I have checked the fuse 12, and the light bulb, both are good, but no reverse light. Is there a switch for this? If so, is it in the car or outside the car (under)? Please help.

Yes, it is in the shifter console.
