1998 BMW 523 Repair Question

1998 BMW 523 asc wont turn off
Brakes problem
1998 BMW 523 6 cyl Two Wheel Drive Manual 73000 miles
bmw 523i se the car is alway on stability control i press the asc button and noting happens i have checked the fuses they are fine what eles could the problem be the buttin seems to work correctly as the light on the button is on but no dash lights come on hope you can help me

It sounds like the ASC control module has failed, it is a fairly common failure and it requires replacement and coding of the ASC module.
