2001 BMW 330 engine lite

My check engine lite came on and i went and bought a code reader. the reader told me the code and what the problem was but i dont know how to fix it. The code reader desplayed

that the fuel banks 1 and 2 are running lean. what does that even mean and how do i fix the problem.

This can often indicate the introduction of excess air into the engine through a crack in the bellows at the turn to the idle air control motor, it is a typical failure. If so, replace the bellows and clear the fault. The part is available online at Realoem. Com #13-54-1-437-191 and cost $12.16 plus whatever shipping charges.
