Hi,
I am in a dilema and in need of your assistance. I got a brand new 328i in Dec 07. My girl friend got into a rear end accident where they had to replace the bumper, battery and work on the back frame. It was at the body shop for about 3 - 4 weeks. After I took it back, week later, in the parking lot, the car shut down completely and didnt start. The keys were stuck inside. Tow truck came and jump started the car, took it to the dealership and they said that it could be loose wiring of the battery and couldnt find the problem. They said it looks ok. Yesterday, the car encountered the same problem (shut down with keys inside. Needed to be jumpstarted but this time I couldnt drive since the lights were flickering and tow guy advised it to be towed). Service folks have no idea what is causing the power drain. Can you please tell me if you know why this is happening?

Thanks,
K

If this is a new 2007 car, the BMW factory warranty is in force, use it or compel the party that repaired the vehicle to make good their repairs.
That being said, I know how tough it is for the dealerships to find good help, and the new cars are complex.
If the battery was damaged in the accident, it should be replaced. (The battery is in the trunk)

Thank you for replying to my question. This is a brand new car and the battery was replaced when I got into that accident. This problem has happened twice in the past 2 months after it came out of the dealership completely repaired. Do you know what the problem might be?
