Oil in coolant?
I have a 1985 bmw 325e that has recently overheated... blew a radiator hose.... the car was given to me with this info only.
i found that the coolant is very thick, looks like oil in the reservior.
there are no external leaks. no smoke or discolor coming from tail pipe.
the oil looks fine... cant tell if coolant is in the oil. is it possible that the leak is coming from somthing other than a blown head gasket? thethermostat is brand new. is there anywhere that the oil and coolant could mix besides the cylinder head?

[b Sound's like a cracked head or a head gasket leaking. We have this problem frequently in the shop from people trying to go that extra mile to get home while the car is overheating, unfortunatly, that is a costly decision. Prepare to spend around 3 grand if you're lucky[/b]
