While driving I noticed that the temp was going up, when I was checking the coolant level I noticed that the fan was wedged against the radiator and a couple of the blades were broken. What could have possibly caused this? The radiator was secure and the fan clutch nut was tight. Any help would be appreciated. Your help gets my donation. Thanx

Hi vatohammer,

Thanks for the donation.

I can think of 2 possible causes of the fan blades disintergrating.

1. Blades have cracked due to old age.

2. Debris had gotten to the blades cracking a piece off.

The unbalanced fan would break further when engine rpm gets higher.

When you are replacing the fan, replace the motor mounts too, They are most likely allowing the motor to move and then the fan touches the shroud and breaks the fan blades.
