It happened several times, and the last time I went to the BMW dealer: the problem was a switch in the driver seat belt buckle. I would like to know how to open the buckle shell to verify swith or sensor in it, and do I need to remove power cable from the battery because of possible airbag activation. There must be latches in the buckle holding the shell, but I could not find them. Thank you in advance for your tips.

The issue with the SRS system usually has to do with the wiring more than the latch. There seems to be a concern regarding the system functionality process, the warning light is on for some fault and that fault may be system failure or just a glitch in the fault history recorded for an issue that no longer exists.
