2004 BMW 318 4 cyl Two Wheel Drive Manual 84000 miles

Hi,

I have a BMW 318d, its 4 years old, I have been thinking about fitting a remote start to my car, however I am not sure how it works, and also do not want to add a cheap modification to the car either. Would you be able to explain how it works, and what they do exactly to the car to make the remote start functionable?
