BMW does not support yearly maintenance, instead it is called inspection I or inspection II or oil service. At your mileage you are close to being due for an inspection II service. This calls for changing all lubricating oils and all filters, replacement of the spark plugs, visually inspecting the vehicle for safety issues and need for maintenance (brakes, suspension, tires, oil leaks, lamps, electrical drives, addressing stored faults if any) This is something that most people are not prepared for in as much as the task is not difficult, but does require experience with this type of work. Having said all of that, if your car is running well with no safety issues and isn't all beat to death, then an oil and filter change is appropriate and can be accomplished quite easily.
