2001 BMW 318 COMPRESSION
Engine Mechanical problem
2001 BMW 318 4 cyl Two Wheel Drive Manual 87,220 miles
My car has only done 87,000 miles and I have been told that I need a new engine. I have had a compression test done and no. 2 cylinder is reading 2.8. The mechanic told me the cam rollers were getting rusty so water is getting in, so the oil cannot be circulating. Do I need to replace the engine or can it be repaired

The salvage yards have motors and it might be the way for you to go. Rebuilding is not recommended.
