1993 BMW 318 Transmission default light.
Transmission problem
1993 BMW 318 4 cyl Two Wheel Drive Automatic 200006 miles
Somes times the Transmission default light comes on. When it is on the fefault light causes the car to go into lemp mode in which all the gears are not used. I can restart the car and at times, the light will not come back on. This is a problem that I would like to fix. What is my problem?

There is a chip in the transmission control module, it needs to be replaced with an updated unit.
