1984 BMW 318 not getting fuel to fuel injectors

1984 BMW 318 4 cyl Two Wheel Drive Manual 260000 miles
I just received a BMW 84 318i and it will not start. it turns over til the battery dies. i tested the fuel pressure and the fuel pump works fine but the inectors arent squirting at all. i tested the injectors with an led and there isnt any electricity reaching them. i was told by a mechanic that the fuel raleys for those years went bad early. the fuel pump will continue to work but the injectors will simply be cut out of the system and not function at all. is this true and is there any helpful advice u can give? thanks.
