1984 BMW 318 Need some input please
Engine Cooling problem
1984 BMW 318 4 cyl Two Wheel Drive Manual 165000 miles
I have an 84 318i that has been a cooling nightmare since I bought it. I have replaced the thermostat, fan blade/clutch, and the radiator. Recently, I put the Wynns head gasket repair in, and all was great. Lasted a month, at best.
The other night, the temperature guage started jumping around, I wasnt getting any heat, the exhaust was clouding the inrtersection, and steam was coming out from the reservoir hose. My guess is that I have a blown headgasket, but I am in banking (lol(, not mechanics).
Any suggestion or questions?
Thanks,
Rick

Hi there,
This is sounding like a head gasket problem, i would get a mechanic to do a Co check on the cooling system, this is a simple chemical test that will detect any Co in the cooling system, if positive you will have a head gasket problem, start here.
