My auxiliary gear is bad and I do not use and never have since I bought the vehicle. I intend to remove the auxiliary gear and begin to drive the vehicle like that since I don't use the auxiliary gear anyway. Can .i do that?

This is an AWD vehicle and you cannot remove the transfer. The AWD system is in use all the time with the torque delivery being controlled by the computer.

The switch is for locking the torque delivery, not turning the 4WD on or off.
