I have a '04' audi a8 (3.0l tdi). My acoustic parking system is doing the long beep when I activate it which means there is something wrong with it. I know that it is not working because it thinks there is a towbar connected, when there actually isn't. Also if I use the onboard computer and try to switch towing mode off it won't let me. So I was wondering do I have to do something on the towbar itself?

I faced the same problem,

then I go for the change,

its being changed by the shop.

Now its running well.

Why don't you go for change !
