I have a 1998 Audi A6 - 2.4 - 2WD with about 60 000 miles on the odometer.

The transmission operates well (no clunking, no unusual noises) while in normal automatic mode, but the 'Tiptronic' function does not work. Moving the shifter to the Tiptronic slot does nothing. There is no response.

My question is: Is this a mechanical problem, or is there perhaps an electrical problem (fuse, chip) which is preventing the operation of the Tiptronic??
