Audi A6 2.0 1995 ABK Engine - Buzzing Air Flow Meter
Hi There
Audi A6 2.0 ABK engine 1995 125,000 miles
My Audi starts up fine from a jump start but will not start by itself. Even if I drive it 100 miles, charge the battery overnight, if I leave it in the car (disconnected) or whatever, it turns the engine a few times and then runs down. I have changed the battery and it still does it. The one thing I've noticed is that the air flow meter makes a really loud buzzing noise when I turn the key to the ignition position. Its as if its draining too much power from the battery. Either that or the alternator is not charging the battery properly - although the volt meter reads 15 volts when the car is idle.
Any ideas?
Thanls in advance, Iwan Essery

Sounds like the battery is bad. That is why the alt is trying so hard(15v) to charge it
