Engine Cooling problem
2001 Audi A6 6 cyl All Wheel Drive Automatic
----------------------------------------------------------------
I've changed the water pump, thermostat, coolant temp fan switch & flushed it as much as I can... from what I've searched and reviewed, it has been said that if anyone was mixed any other coolant with g12 that it turns into sludge, wondering if that was true... other than that, I've flushed it by disconnecting the hoses from radiator to motor and flushed the radiator from both ends of the hoses until it was clear and same with motor and still have over heating problem... also noticed fan doesn't turn on... I've made it turn on manually so I know the fan's o.k... too me, seems like coolant isn't flowing... help please, anyone?

try using a tool to put a vacuum on the cooling system to fill with coolant sounds like you have air lock in the cooling system ,and yes mixing coolant will cause system to turn brown like rust and sludge up

i believe audi's have there on type style of automatic bleeding system for air pock within the reservoir... but even so, just getting in the car in the morning and turning it on, the temp gauge already jumps away from "c"... and I've done a test for letting it sit there and the fan still doesn't turn on and the needles heads its' way to "h"... fan works of course with A/C on, but temp still rises...??? help.

first is the engine actually over heating , check the block readings with a scan tool and check to see if there are any faults in the engine control module or the instrument cluster for the ect (engine coolant temp sensor).if you check readings after setting over night and there very different from surrounding air temp i would be looking at the ect
