i had a mechanic tell my water pump was going bad just by listening to it. it makes a rattling noise, only sometimes! my question is, if it is actually my water pump going bad, when it makes this sort of rattling noise, could this cause a loss of acceleration and power.
whenever the noise seems to be happening the rpms get higher and the car has slightly less power. sometimes the noise will just stop and then the engine will feel like it has alot more power
