1986 Audi 5000 Manual 85000 miles

The fan will not shut off even when the car is off, i have unplugged the battery and every time it is reconnected the fan kicks back on. It runs in high the whole time i have power to it and removing the fuse does nothing either. what can i do to fix this? Also i am getting ready to replace the rear rotors and brakes do you have any advice for this before i begin?

Chances are the high speed fan relay is stuck closed.Its up under the dash on the left side.I don't recall the relay number but find the one thats hot when the fan is running,this will be the relay,then disconnect the battery and remove the relay.It'll probably be difficult to remove due to the tight connectors.
