VIN numbers
What digit of a VIN code tells what kind of transmission is in the vehicle. How would you read it?

On most vehicles the vin will tell you :
Manufacturer
Brake Type and GVWR Class
Line,Series Body Type
Engine Type
Model Year
Assembly Plant
You will have better luck finding tranny info on the door tag.
