2002 Intrepid 2.7 Fault Code P1776
I get this code in top gear. The car jolts slightly before the warning light comes on. It goes into limp in mode. It clears itself on restart and drives normally until the next time!!!! Any ideas please. I'm thinking it is a gummed up valve in the valve body?? Would a tranny flush help??? Thanks.

It was the trans solenoid pack....very common. $500 fixed it...ouch!!

I am experiencing the same trouble code and jerking before the check engine light comes on. Where bouts did u fix it and how. My mechanic tells me that the gear box would need to be replaced and is quoting a price of approx $ 1500 to replace the gear box. $ 500 is a lot cheaper than $ 1500.
