My hood has a dent on the exterior right above the latch. I have used a suction cup to pull it out, but once the hood is opened and closed again the dent is sucked back in; now a weak spot in the metal I guess. Is it possible to repair this permanently or is it cheaper to get a used replacement hood?

Either you can find out if the antiflutter foam is good and the latch isnt collapsed but that usually involves cutting the skin apart, reinforcing and welding closed again.

With that said id replace the hood.

Or with the dent down you can bondo it.

Yes, those dents can't be done in just sucking it plus Mustang has this strong body and built. Just leave it to the mechanic and/or welding some parts. At least if it worked, you won't buy another hood. But that would be the last option.
